First Lady Krista M. Tyson

God's leading lady.

Krista M. Tyson was born on September 14 in Rock Island, Illinois, to Bro. Johnnie C. Dawkins and Pastor Rena M. Dawkins.  Obtaining a well-rounded education was high on the family’s list of accomplishments.  She excelled in the Rock Island Public Schools.  Upon graduating from High School, she attended two local colleges to fulfill her passion in the fashion industry.  Attending secular colleges just didn’t seem to fill the void felt; nor meet the intended purpose that God had for her.

The call upon her life was too strong to deny, so in August of 1982, she elected to move to Indianapolis, Indiana, to attend Aenon Bible College.  She answered the call to the ministry in 1985 and began to share the word of God to whoever had an ear to hear.  Continuing her education in Theology, Evangelist Tyson graduated from Aenon Bible College in August 1986 as Salutatorian of her class and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology and went on to attend Christian Theological Seminary in the Master’s Degree Program concentrating on Pastoral Care and Counseling.  Evangelist Tyson was ordained as a licensed Minister of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc., at the summer convention that was held in Detroit, Michigan.

While in her second year at Aenon Bible College, Evangelist Tyson was introduced to National Evangelist C. Shawn Tyson.  The two were united in Holy Matrimony on December 9, 1989 and joined forces against Satan’s kingdom by traveling the world over to carry the pure, unadulterated word of God.  To this union was born one lovely and gifted son,  James Edison Tyson II.

From 1993 – 1996, Elder Shawn & Lady Krista Tyson were called back to Elder Tyson’s birth place to serve as the dynamic Pastor of the Apostolic Faith Assembly in Canton, OH. While serving there, the Tyson’s established The Barbara J. Winn Child Care Center, which Evangelist Krista served as the director.

Evangelist Krista Tyson and her family returned back to Indianapolis and served together faithfully at Christ Church Apostolic, where her Father, Bishop James E. Tyson, was the Pastor.  She served actively on the Praise Team, Cathedral Choir, Ministerial Alliance, Sunday School teacher and an Author.  Evangelist Tyson, while continuing her education; has taught at Aenon Bible College, travels with the Gospel message through song, preaching, conferences, workshops, new academy advisor, and is the Director of the Christ Church Child Care Ministries and Christian Academy.

Then, in 2008, under the guidance of the Holy Ghost, Bishop James E. Tyson & Bishop Norman L. Wagner installed Bishop J. Laverne Tyson, the eldest son of the Tyson children, as Senior Pastor of Christ Church and Pastor C. Shawn Tyson as the Executive Pastor of Christ Church. Bishop James E. Tyson was appointed as Overseer.

In July, 2010, God elevated Elder Tyson as Pastor of his family’s home church, The Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church in Youngstown, OH.  Pastor Shawn & Lady Krista Tyson have been ordained by the mind of God to carry on the vision and assignment of his mentor, The Honorable Bishop Norman L. Wagner, ….to GOD be the glory!
